Introduction

Traditional Filipino tomato based stew. Traditional Filipino tomato based stew.

Ingredients

    27.4 oz goat and/or beef meet
    0.5 of green peas
    1 cup chopped onions
    10 slices of ginger root (1 dia)
    2 cloves garlic
    1 tbsp fish sauce
    8 tbsp Mama Sitas Caldereta Sauce or tomato sauce
    3 cups bell pepper, diced
    2 medium potatoes, diced
    dash of pepper
    dash of sugar
    bay leaf
    0.5 liter of water

Directions

put ginger, garlic, onion, and meat in a pot and slow cook until meat is cooked and pot is almost dry; add bay leaf pepper, sugar, salt, fish sauce, dried green peas and water and boil in meduim heat for 60 minutes; add potatoes and boil for 10 minutes; add tomato sauce or caldereta mix and boil for 10 minutes; add bell peppers and boil for 5 minutes; season to taste if using tomato sauce

Serving Size: makes 9 servings with 3 oz of meat
