Introduction

I came up with this straight forward way to always get easy to peel hard boiled eggs based on several other published methods. I came up with this straight forward way to always get easy to peel hard boiled eggs based on several other published methods.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    10-14 Large White Eggs
    2 trays ice cubes
    tap water

Tips

- I use ice cubes made from tap water since bottled / filtered water is not needed
- I dump hot water down drain quickly to avoid build of heat in kitchen and to help keep drains clear

Directions

1. Put eggs carefully in pot with enough water to cover eggs by 1-2 inches
2. Cover pot. Heat on high until bubbles are just beginning to form in water (about 12-14 minutes).
3. Reduce heat under pot to low, and set timer for 13 minutes.
3. While pot is heating, fill separate large bowl with about 2 quarts cold tap water. Put reusable cooler ice pack into water to further cool it.
4. When timer sounds, remove reusable ice pack from and add two ice trays of ice cubes to water in bowl.
5. Carefully transfer eggs from pot to bowl.
6. After ice has melted, move eggs to container lined with paper towel (to absorb moisture). Refrigerate.
