Salisbury Steak with Onion (No Mushrooms)

Introduction

Very tasty and easy to make Salisbury steak. Does not contain any mushrooms, and flavor is based on beef and onion. Very tasty and easy to make Salisbury steak. Does not contain any mushrooms, and flavor is based on beef and onion.

Ingredients

    1 lb Ground Beef
    1 egg
    1 package Onion Soup Mix (dry)
    1 Onion (medium size preferable)
    2 tbsp Butter
    2 tbsp Flour
    1 can Beef Broth
    Salt and Pepper

Tips

Typically served over egg noodles or pasta.

If sauce too thick, add more broth.


Directions

Combine ground beef, egg and onion soup mix in bowl (fold the ingredients together to prevent possible breaking or over-mixing). Season with salt and pepper. Form mixture into 4 patties.

Peel and slice onion.

Heat deep skillet on medium heat. Add patties to skillet. Brown both sides (1 or 2 minutes a side), and set aside.

Add butter to skillet. Add sliced onion to skillet. Let cook until tender.

Mix in flour to onion and butter in the skillet. Make sure all flour gets mixed in. Slowly add the beef broth allowing to slightly thicken before adding more. Once all broth is added, let cook until it begins to slightly thicken. Stirring continually.

Add beef patties back to skillet. Let cook until patties are cooked thoroughly.
