Curtis Meat Sauce

Introduction

A spaghetti sauce both hearty and healthy. A spaghetti sauce both hearty and healthy.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 C. Copped onion
    2 Clove garlic
    1 28 oz can tomatoes
    1/2 (6 oz ) Red wine
    1 lb 93% lean ground beef
    Basil
    Rosemary
    Oregano
    1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
    1 tbsp Olive Oil

Tips

It can be done in a slow cooker, just brown the beef, de-glaze , and add other ingredients.


Directions

heat a pan with the olive oil. Don't let it quite smoke ( the olive oil will get bitter ) add the chopped onion. When the onion is starting to brown add garlic. after ~ 1 min, add the ground beef, and brown.
When the ground beef is well browned and bits are on the bottom of the pan add the red wine. stir for about 30-40 seconds to get the brown bits up, add the balsamic and tomatoes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Season to taste, about 1 tsp each of basil oregano and rosemary. Let simmer until thick, about 20-30 min.
