Instant Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal To-Go

Introduction

A cheaper and less sugar and sodium packed alternative to those Quaker instant oatmeal cups. A cheaper and less sugar and sodium packed alternative to those Quaker instant oatmeal cups.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1/2 cup instant oatmeal
    1 tsp unpacked brown sugar
    1 tbs of dried cranberries
    ***Walnuts

    ***Note: The more walnuts you add the more protein your recipe will have but that also comes with additional calories. I stick to about a half ounce to keep the whole to-go cup under 300 calories.

Tips

This is an easy recipe and you can swap out all of the ingredients except the oatmeal. I make it with fresh apples pieces, raisins, almonds, cashews, blueberries, raspberries, etc. Variety is the spice of life and you don't want to become bored.


Directions

Add water to create desired consistency and microwave for 2 minutes. May also use leftover water from your tea kettle if your a morning tea drinker like me.
