Introduction

My basic Chili in a crock pot. I tend to use more or less spices depending on who I am cooking for. My basic Chili in a crock pot. I tend to use more or less spices depending on who I am cooking for.
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    2 Lbs Lean Ground Beef
16 oz bag dry Light Red Kidney Beans
    28 oz can Diced Tomatoes
14.5 oz can Chili Ready Tomatoes
    2Tbsp Cumin
    1Tbsp Cayenne Pepper
    2Tbsp Chili Powder
    1Tbsp Garlic Powder
    2Tbsp Onion Powder

Tips

Sometimes, I will use Tomato Juice or V8 in place of water or add a diced onion to the browned beef until clear. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Let the beans sit overnight in a bowl of water per package directions. Rinse and then put in a crock pot.

2. Brown ground Beef in a pan on medium heat until cooked through.

3. Add all ingredients to the crock pot, just barely cover the ingredients with water (1/2 inch), and put on high heat for one hour.

4. Turn heat down to low and cook for another 8+ hours, but not more than 12, stirring every so often.
