canela as cinnamon is called is widely consumed in Mexico in the mornings or when ever it is cold. can be made without the Black tea for a traditional and caffeine free treat. canela as cinnamon is called is widely consumed in Mexico in the mornings or when ever it is cold. can be made without the Black tea for a traditional and caffeine free treat.
Number of Servings: 11

Ingredients

    1 Gallon water
    3 cinnamon sticks. Mexican cinnamon preferably
    3 black tea bags
    1 cup unpacked brown sugar

Directions

bring water and cinnamon to a boil let boil for about 10 minutes. if wanting caffeine free no tea add sugar now. otherwise add tea bags and let steep for a few minutes. Then add sugar stir to dissolve and serve. You can add more water and boil again with tea removed and the cinnamon will give you another batch of flavorful tea before you would need to discard the sticks. Waste not want not.

Serving Size: 11 mugs
