IntroductionSweet tortilla treat filled with honey, cinnamon and sugar. Child friendly. Sweet tortilla treat filled with honey, cinnamon and sugar. Child friendly.
1 tablespoon of Butter, 2 Flour Tortillas (Medium-approx. 6 in. diameter), 1.5 tablespoons of Honey, 2.5 tablespoons of Ground Cinnamon, and 2.5 teaspoons of Granulated Sugar
Take one (1) tortilla and spread the honey evan in the center leaving an inch of empty spacearoundthe edges. (This may seem like very little space for the honey but it will spread as it warms with the heat of the stove.
Use a (preferably) flat skillet and turn your flame to a medium heat. I tend to cook with a higher heat, but I am comfortable cooking that way, You will soon be melting butter adn you don't want it to burn.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar together thoroughly (it is easiest to do so with a small sandwich bag).
******NOW IS THE TIME TO ADD THE 1 tbs of BUTTER TOTHE WARMING SKILLET******
Apply your desired amount of cinnamon-sugar mixture to the honey coated area of the tortilla, then cover with the second tortilla
Toast your tortilla until crispy, this usually takes me about 2-2.5 minutes per side (WARNING-PAY CLOSE ATTENTION WHILE PERFORMING THIS STEP, ANY BURNT AREA HAS A SUPER STRONG BURNT FLAVOR).
Use any left over cinnamon-sugar to coat the buttery toasted tortilla and return the tortilla to skillet to give this treat a candy-like caramelization.
Cut the finished tortilla into 6 even pieces (using a pizza cutter for this makes it super fun if making this with children), and ENJOY!
