Spaghetti alla Carbonara (with Turkey Bacon)

Introduction

Simple spaghetti carbonara substituting turkey bacon for pancetta. Simple spaghetti carbonara substituting turkey bacon for pancetta.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 oz thin spaghetti
    1 tbsp olive oil
    3 slices turkey bacon
    1 clove garlic
    1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    1 large egg, beaten

Directions

Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil over high heat in a small saute pan. Sliver the turkey bacon and fry over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet. Mince the garlic and add to pan. Add the salt and pepper and saute until golden. Toss the bacon and spaghetti into the pan and saute over medium heat for two minutes. Remove from heat. Slowly pour the beaten egg into the pasta, stirring constantly and being careful the egg is creamed but not scrambled. Add the Parmesan cheese and toss until melted. Top with grated Parmesan.
