Tropical Avocado Smoothie

Introduction

Don't be put off by the vibrant green color of this refreshing smoothie. It tastes of the tropics! Don't be put off by the vibrant green color of this refreshing smoothie. It tastes of the tropics!
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 cup coconut water
    1 avocado
    1 t grated fresh ginger or 1/2 t dried ginger
    1 scoop vanilla protein powder
    2 T lime juice
    1 cup frozen pineapple

Directions

Combine all ingredients except the pineapple in a blender and process until smooth. Add the pineapple and pulse a few times, then process until smooth. Add water or ice, if necessary, to reach desired consistency.

Serving Size: Makes 2 smoothies (about 1 1/2 cups or 12 ounces each)

    Delicious. I really liked it. I made it with pineapple coconut water. I think the kind of vanilla protein powder you use can make or break this recipe. I will be having this again tomorrow for my 4:30am breakfast. Definitely freeze the pineapples or add ice. - 12/15/14

  • It is probably creamy because of the avocado. Kiwi is great for added potassium. To me banana has too many carbs. Will try it. - 10/26/14
