Comments:
I use this recipe if I'm craving Ice cream because it has less than 95 Calories and is quick and easy to make from ingredients that are always in my house. I've also used this Recipe as a fun cooking session with pre-schoolers they love the process and get to eat ice cream in the end. If you are craving say strawberry ice cream they so make strawberry extract and you can just substitute that for the vanilla extract.

We made this as a spur-of-the-moment-let's-see-if-this-works dessert and it was amazing!! Plus, this allowed us to make different flavor ice cream for each person (added 1/4 tsp instant coffee- mixed well- to make coffee ice cream; added 1/4 tsp chocolate syrup for chocolate ice cream). Thank you!!! - 8/24/10

Mmmm! This just brought back memories of camp in 5th grade! I made this using only reduced fat chocolate milk and it tasted just like a fudge sickle (I wouldn't call it ice cream, though) - no need to add the sugar or vanilla as the favor is all there. Great idea, thanks for the reminder! - 3/16/10

  • I must be doing something wrong. I have shaken for 7 minutes and the pint sized bag was pierced from one of the ice cubes and it leaked into the gallon bag so now I have watered down and salted, flavored milk. What did I do wrong? - 7/12/11

  • I was AMAZED at how well this work! I used lemon extract instead and splenda instead of sugar. It turned out like a sorbet for me which is greast as I prefer sorbets. It did taste salty though in some bits but that must gave been me somewhere transferring it into the bowl. - 6/4/11

  • Just made this! We were a bit low on ice, but I managed to get the mixture to freeze. It was actually pretty good. A bit salty, though--which I found odd because the salt was OUTSIDE the mixture bag. But still, I'd use this recipe again! - 5/30/11

  • I made this two times. Fun to make. Almost did not believe it could work so fast. Hard in 3 minutes. My only question is why the ice cream was too salty in spots, even though no salt in the recipe. I can only think it absorbed the salt through the plastic bag? Can anyone help me with this? - 11/13/10
