Well, I was heavy-handed with both the crushed red pepper and the garlic and my hubby and I wouldn't change a thing. We were ecstatic! This is one of the best recipes we've made from Spark People. Absolutely loved it! (I use Barilla multi-grain angel hair pasta.) Thank you so much for sharing! :) - 7/24/07

I used extra jumbo shrimp, and added frozen spinach after the wine had cooked down. VERY VERY tasty! I would definitely make it again! - 12/28/07

This is wonderful. Easy, tasty and a little heat. Actually quite a bit of heat but I wouldn't change it. I used nice big frozen (uncooked) shrimp and it worked out fine. I didn't have any wine so used some broth with about a tblsp. of white wine vinegar. I can't wait to have this again. GAV - 11/12/07

Love this recipe because of the very few ingredients-a bag of frozen shrimp is always in my freezer. I might cut the oil down to 1 tbsp & add 1/8 cup of the pasta cooking water - then add 2 tbsp freshly grated parmesan cheese! Ciao bella! - 3/29/07

If you don't like spicy foods, cut the red pepper flakes down to 1 tsp. It was way to spicy for everyone but my husband with a whole tbs, but the flavors were good. - 3/18/07

  • I cut down the red pepper by half & added 1/2 cup asparagus tips. Also topped with a little shredded parmesan. Very good. - 9/18/13

  • Excellent recipe though next time I'll change a couple things. I would add the wine when the shrimp just starts to go pink and then add the pasta while it's still slightly undercooked so it could absorb more flavor. I add Penzey's Chili 9000 and reduce the red pepper for a fuller flavor. - 7/19/13

  • This was only ok. I didn't add the red pepper to the whole pot, we used it individually. I also added a lemon to this as well. - 8/27/12

  • Delicious! I used frozen spinach and I didn't have enough white wine so I used rice cooking wine. It came out superb. I will use less red pepper though the next time around maybe 1/2 tbsp. - 5/17/11

  • I got this recipe several months ago out of a cookbook that calls for orzo instead. But I love it with the angel hair pasta. I also do it with bowtie pasta. Also, I use about a tbls of fresh Basil finely chopped. delicious! - 9/23/10

  • Awesome, we loved it and will make it again! I copied the spinach idea off of the other poster. Used a big bag, squished out the water and put it in after the wine. I added it to the calories and it made the servings bigger. Subbed butter for olive oil, when done sprinkled with Parm/Romano. - 2/9/10
