Ingredients

    2 pkg dry yeast
    1/2 cup warm water
    1 can evaporated milk (not condensed)
    2 cups skim milk
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/4 cup shortening
    8-12 cups white flour


Tips

* check oven after 30 minutes and bake until nicely baked. I like a crustier bun.
* You can also make loaves appx 2 by placing dough in loaf pan instead and let rise before you bake.


Directions

mix water and yeast and set aside
in large sauce pan add and scald both milks, remove from heat, then to that add salt, sugar and shortening. Cool to warm and add to yeast mixture. Then add 8 cups of flour and knead intermitingly. Add more flour as needed until nice dough consistincey. Let rise for 1 hour. Then knead and make hamburger buns and place on greased or pam sprayed cookie sheet. Let rise again for 30 or so more minutes. place in 350 degree oven for appx. 30 to 40 minutes.
