Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup Butter, softened
    3 cups Sugar
    5 Eggs
    3 cups Flour
    2 teaspoons Lemon extract
    3/4 cup 7UP
    Confectioner's sugar

Directions

Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, lemon extract, and 7UP; mix well.

Pour into greased angel food (or bundt) pan. Bake 325F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Let stand for at least 10 minutes before removing from cake pan. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.

All things in moderation right! btw, I've lost 18 lbs in 3 months! I'M NOW IN A SIZE 2!!!
But really, this is intended to be used for reference. When someone serves something bad, it can be hard to tell how really BAD it is. Recipes like this help me realize what I'm getting into.

  • Me, I can only eat 1/12th of an angel foodcake ring :) Exactly, everything in moderation! But I do agree, some of the ingredients really should be tweaked to try to get some of the baddies out of it..I'm NOT trying to lose weight and even I could not bring myself to eat something this bad for you :) - 4/10/08

  • I would use a sugar-free cake mix, diet 7-up and maybe the lemon extract. This does have way too many calories and fat. - 4/3/08

  • This is an old favorate of mine...it is simply delicious however since I'm trying to get healthier I will substitue the the butter with lite or no fat margarine, sub the sugar with splenda, sub the eggs with egg beaters (white only), maybe use cake flour instead of white flour and no conf. sugar. - 4/2/08
