Hummus is easy to buy premade, but it's so much more delicious when made fresh. Serve this low-fat version with bell pepper strips, cherry tomatoes, lightly steamed broccoli, cauliflower florets and baby carrots. Ingredients

    1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
    1/2 cup plain fat-free yogurt
    2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
    3 garlic cloves, crushed
    2 tsp olive oil
    1 tbsp water
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp ground cumin
    1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper

Directions

In a food processor or blender, puree all the ingredients until blended, but still a little chunky.


**Hummus keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.
