Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Introduction

Try these with half whole wheat flour. Try these with half whole wheat flour.

Ingredients

    Hard Margarine, 1/2 cup, softened
    Unsweetened Apple Sauce, 0.25 cup
    Brown Sugar, .5 cup, packed
    Sucralose (Splenda), .5 cup
    (or 1 cup of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend)
    Vanilla Extract, 1 tsp
    Banana, fresh, 1 cup, mashed
    Egg, fresh, 1 large
    Flour, white, 1.5 cup
    Baking Soda, .5 tsp
    Salt, 1 tsp
    Nutmeg, ground, .25 tsp
    Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp
    *Quaker Oats - Quick 1 Minute - Dry, 1.5 cup

Directions

Sift together all dry ingredients except oats.

Cream together margarine, apple sauce and sugar/Splenda. Add vanilla, egg, banana and oats.

Stir in flour mixture.

Drop from spoons onto ungreased sheets .

Bake at 350F for approximately 13 minutes until golden brown.

Allow to cool before removing from sheet.

Walnuts or chocolate chips may be added.

These are a cakey, soft cookie.
