Ground Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
can mushroom soup
1/2 c reduced fat sour cream
4oz can of chopped mushrooms (drained)
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Brown ground beef in skillet. Add in onion and garlic and cook together for 3 min. Add in remaining ingredients bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes with lid on. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that EVERYTHING can be toyed with. Make it your own and enjoy.

I made the beef into meatballs with a little garlic powder, chopped onion & a dash of soy sauce. I cooked the meatballs, drained them on a paper towel & wiped out the pan. Put rest of ingred except salt in pan & added a tsp. soy sauce & a tbsp. beef stock to the sauce & returned meatballs to pan. - 5/21/08

I made a few minor tweaks to this recipe and it came out great. I left out the soup and mushrooms. I also used 1 cup of fat free nonfat yogurt instead of the sour cream and increased the garlic powder, used a whole onion and fat free chicken broth and cooked a whole wheat pasta in the sauce. Great - 1/24/10

This was AMAZING!! Not sure how anyone could call it bland! I doubled & added a good sprinkling of onion powder, paprika, and onion powder, used one can of the 98% fat free cream of mushroom and one reg. (all I had on hand), & served it over no yolk egg noodles. I will be making this OVER AND OVER! - 2/12/13

This was good and both the kids ate it too. I made these changes: 1 lb. lean ground beef
1 tsp garlic powder
+ can golden mushroom soup
6 tbsp of lowfat evaporated milk instead of sour cream
I had to use the evaporated milk b/c my sour cream had gone bad and I was out of milk : o Still good! - 3/25/11
