Green banana smoothie

Introduction

This yummy smoothie, which will actually be a bright, pale, green, is packed with one serving of dairy, one serving of fruit, and one serving of vegetables. You won't taste the kale; even my husband -- who would certainly never willingly eat (or drink) kale didn't taste it and liked this. You can also omit the chocolate syrup and use chocolate soymilk if you prefer. For a snack, this makes two servings. Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 frozen banana
    1 c soy milk
    1 c kale or spinach
    1/2 tbsp peanut butter
    1/2 tbsp chocolate syrup

Directions

1. Place all ingredients into a (powerful) blender.

2. Blend approximately 45 seconds.

3. Pour & enjoy

  • Surprisingly good! I used 5 big kale leaves and if I were to do this one again I'd use maybe 4, mine had just a hint of "green" aftertaste to it. Beautiful color though, and just in time for St Patrick's Day! - 3/13/09
