Caprese Panini

Submitted by: MADSES

Introduction

This sandwich was inspired by a similar dish I have enjoyed at D'Amico & Sons restaurant in Minnesota. Fresh basil leaves give this sandwich a different, but very good, taste. Delish! It is amazing how wonderful this simple sandwich can taste. It's filling and satisfying, and not too many calories. It's actually really good without olive oil, too. I have this a couple times every week for lunch. Another variation is to use olive tapenade in addition. - 12/10/08
