OLD-FASHIONED MACARONI AND CHEESE

Introduction

This is a favorite with my children. This was calculated using 2 % milk and extra large eggs. This is a favorite with my children. This was calculated using 2 % milk and extra large eggs.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    4 cups cooked macaroni (8 oz. pkg or 2 cups uncooked macaroni)
    2 T butter, cut in pieces
    1 1/2 cups cubed sharp cheddar cheese
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 eggs, beaten
    2 cups milk

Directions

Makes 8 one-cup servings.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Combine macaroni, butter, cheese, and seasonings. Place in greased 1 1/2- or 2 -quart baking dish. Combine eggs and milk (I usually whisk them together). Pour over macaroni. Sprinke with paprika (optional). Bake 1 hour.
Variation: Add 1 cup ham.
