Introduction

This is my favorite cake to make. I can bake a few in less than an hour. The apple sauce is a healthier alternative to vegetable shortening. This is my favorite cake to make. I can bake a few in less than an hour. The apple sauce is a healthier alternative to vegetable shortening.

Ingredients

    Apple Cake
    3 apples, peeled and cut into chunks
    1/2 no sugar plain apple sauce (a little less than the 1/2 cup)
    1 cup flour
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1-2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Mix applesauce and sugar. For the applesauce, use a little less than 1/2 cup. You don't want it too runny. Beat eggs and add to sugar mixture. Combine dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture. Fold in apples.
grease an 8 or 9 inch cake pan. Cook at 350 for 45-55 minutes.
