HealthierLynn's Beef with Broccoli

Introduction

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb. top sirloin steak, trimmed of fat and sliced into thin strips
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 14 oz. can Swanson's 99% FF beef broth
    2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
    1/2 Tbsp. Splenda brown sugar blend
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    4 c. broccoli flowerets
    4 c. cooked white rice

Directions

Coat a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add beef, minced garlic and onion, and stir fry until the meat is browned. Remove beef and keep warm.

Add the broccoli and half of the broth to the skillet. Cover and simmer until broccoli is tender.

Mix flour, Splenda, soy sauce, garlic powder and ginger with the remaining broth and mix well. Add to the skillet. Return beef to skillet and cook until the sauce begins to thicken.

Serve over 1 c. cooked rice.
