Mexican Gravy

Introduction

This is great with burritos, chips, refried beans, just about anything Mexican or Tex-Mex! A serving size is about 5 Tbls. This is great with burritos, chips, refried beans, just about anything Mexican or Tex-Mex! A serving size is about 5 Tbls.
Number of Servings: 25

Ingredients

    1/4 cup I can't believe it's not butter
    1/3 cup flour
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 cup chili powder (this is the correct amount!)
    1 tsp oregano
    1/4 tsp cumin
    3.5 cups fat-free chicken broth
    1 (12 oz) can no salt added tomato sauce

Directions

In a large non-stick frying pan, melt the butter.

While butter is melting, mix all dry ingredients and add slowing into the melted butter being sure to stir constantly.

Add the chicken broth and stir until smooth and bubbly, then add the tomato sauce.

This will be thick and is best if served a bit warmed.

25 servings - about 5 Tbls. each
