My Baked Beans

Introduction

This is my recipe for homemade baked beans. This is my recipe for homemade baked beans.
Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    1 gallon pork and beans
    1 lb bacon, cut into appx 1 inch pieces
    2 cups chopped onion
    2 cups chopped green bell pepper
    1 16 oz bottle BBQ sauce
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 cup molasses
    2 tbsp liquid smoke (optional)

Directions

Place pork and beans into crock pot or oven safe baking dish. In a seperate pan on stove top, under medium heat, place entire lb package of cut up bacon pieces until almost browned. Add to bacon, onion and peppers, cooking until tender. Add entire mixture (undrained) to pork and beans. Add brown sugar, molasses, BBQ sauce, and liquid smoke pork and bean mixture and mis throughly. Cook in crock pot on high for 4 hours, or in 350 degree oven for 4 hours until mixture is thickened. Yummy.... and makes appx 20 1 cup servings.
