Introduction

This is the basic "dough" for making chocolate chip style cookies and cookie cakes.

You can add in other ingredients such as chocolate chips, nuts, dried fruit, coconut, butterscotch chips, toffee bits, or candies (just to name a few).

Number of Servings: 36

Ingredients

    1 cup Smart Balance buttery spread with flax
    1.5 cups Brown sugar, packed
    2 Large eggs
    1 tsp Vanilla
    2 cups All-purpose flour
    .25 cup Cornstarch
    1 tsp Baking Soda
    .75 tsp Salt

Directions

Cream margarine and brown sugar in large bowl. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Combine next 4 ingredients in small bowl. Add to margarine mixture in 2 additions, mixing well after each addition until no dry flour remains.

Add any additional ingredients you desire. Mix well.

Drop about 1.5 tbsp about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in 350F oven for 10 to 15 minutes until golden. Make about 3 dozen cookies.


To make cookie cake: Follow instructions for mixing cookie dough. Press dough evenly in greased 12 inch pizza pan. If desired, sprinkle any additional toppings (coconut, toffee, etc.). Bake at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes.
