Ingredients

    1 lb. chicken, chopped
    12 jumbo shrimp
    1 1/2 cups chopped celery
    1 1/2 cups chopped carrots
    6 green onions, chopped
    1 cup vegetable broth
    1/3 cup soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 can bean sprouts, drained
    8-oz. can sliced water chestnuts
    1/4 cup cornstarch
    1/3 cup water

    • Combine all the ingredients, except the cornstarch and water, in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

    • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir the MIX into the slow cooker. Leave the lid askew to allow steam to escape, for 20 minutes, or until thickened.

    • Serve with rice.

    Makes 4 to 6 servings
