Lentil chili

Ingredients

1 1/4 cup dry lentils
1 pound hamburger
4 cups water
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup onions, chopped
3 cubes beef buillon (or equivalent)
15 ounce can tomatoes
2 teaspoons chili powder
dash red pepper flakes
dash black pepper flakes
Directions
Cook and drain the hamburger. Set aside. In a large pot, bring the lentils and water to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer. Cook for 30 minutes, adding some water if necessary to keep the lentils wet. Add all the remaining ingredients to the lentils. Simmer for about 20 minutes. Makes 4-5 good sized servings.
