1 cup basmati rice, rinsed
1/2 cup red lentils, rinsed
1/2 tsp turmeric
3/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sesame oil or peanut oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 cups diced onions
1/4 cup arrowroot powder.
Meanwhile heat oil in skillet, add cumin, saute 1 minutes. Add onions, cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until well browned about 12 minutes. Remove from heat add to lenti and rice. Spoon mixture in brown and let cook about 20 minutes.
Spread arrowroot on large plate. Form lentil-rice mixture into 8 patties. evenly coat with arrowroot and set aside.
Heat 2 tsp. of oil in nonstick skillet over medium-hight heat. Saute 4 patties until golden about 2 minutes per side.
