Cashew Masala Paste

Introduction

Make this paste in combination with Chicken Korma (Vegetables & Chicken in a Creamy Cashew Curry). Make this paste in combination with Chicken Korma (Vegetables & Chicken in a Creamy Cashew Curry).

Ingredients

    1 medium garlic clove, chopped
    1/4 cup raw cashews
    1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
    1 tsp ground cumin
    1 tsp ground corriander
    1 medium serrano pepper, stemmed and seeded
    1 tsp fresh ginger, peeled and grated
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup water

Directions

Heat small pan over low heat. add first 5 ingredients to pan and stir occasionally intil spices begin to brown and give off an aroma - 3 to 5 minutes.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and grind to a fine paste. set aside.
