Rita's Spaghetti Sauce

Introduction

Spaghetti Sauce Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

    1 lb. Hot Italian Sausage links
    1 lb. Ground beef
    1 lb. Ground turkey
    2 cups onion, chopped
    2 cups green pepper, chopped
    6 cloves garlic, chopped or minced
    2 Tablespoons Basil
    3 TAblespoons Oregano
    1 teaspoon pepper
    5 cups fresh mushrooms, whole or sliced
    2 Lg cans stewed/chopped tomatoes
    1 Lg can tomato puree or tomato sauce

Directions

Parboil Italian sausage. Set aside. Brown ground beef and ground turkey, rinse and drain. Saute onion, green pepper, and chopped garlic until onion is translucent. Return meat to skillet. Add stewed tomatoes and mushrooms. Season with basil, oregano and pepper. Add 28 oz can tomato puree or tomato sauce. Cover and simmer at least 30 minutes (I simmer all day, about 8 hours, stirring occassionally) Serve over hot pasta or rice.
