Key Lime-Garlic sauce (lo-fat/hi-protein)

Introduction

This is a great alternative to aioli, tartar sauce or other sauces for fish. The mayo is replaced with whipped cottage cheese.

I use this on the tuna cakes as well as on tilapia or catfish.

This is a great alternative to aioli, tartar sauce or other sauces for fish. The mayo is replaced with whipped cottage cheese.

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1/4 c. non-fat cottage cheese
    1TBS skim milk
    3 TBS key West Lime Juice
    1 TBS garlic (minced) (garlic powder works well too)

    Crushed red pepper flakes to taste

Directions

In a blender whip cottage cheese and skim milk until smooth.

Transfer mixture to a small bowl and add Key Lime juice, garlic and pepper flakes. Mix well.

Let stand in refrigerator for about 1/2 hour or so to bring out flavors (though it can be eaten immediately)
