Low fat biscuits

Introduction

This is a lower fat biscuit, using canola oil. I also used fat free sour cream instead of buttermilk, mixing about 2/3 c. of the sour cream to 1/3 of water, getting a buttermilk consistency and lower calories. Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    4 tablespoons sugar
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 canola oil
    3/4-1 cup lowfat buttermilk or
    1/3 cup of water blended with 2/3 cup sour cream (fat free)

Directions

Preheat oven 400 degrees.
Mix together dry ingredients. Mix together wet indredients. Add wet to dry ingredients, stirring to blend. Knead about six times with a small amount of flour. Roll about 3/4" thick, cut out 12 biscuits. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
