Introduction

The frozen fruit helps give the smoothie a thick texture; chilling the pumpkin ensures the smoothie stays cold when you blend it. The combination of banana, pumpkin, yogurt, and orange juice give this breakfast beverage 740mg of potassium per serving. Ingredients

    1 c. low-fat vanilla yogurt
    3/4 c. canned pumpkin, chilled
    1/2 c. ice cubes
    1/3 c. fresh orange juice
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
    dash of ground cloves
    1 ripe banana, sliced and frozen
    dash of ground cinnamon for garnish (opt.)

Directions

Combine yogurt and next 8 ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Garnish with a dash of ground cinnamon if desired.

    This is really good (and you can also make it with plain yogurt and less orange juice to cut down on carbs). I used 3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice instead of the cinn/nutmeg/cloves to cut down on time. - 11/6/09
