World's Best (and Easiest) Salmon

World's Best (and Easiest) Salmon

Introduction

Forget fancy spices--four ingredients are all you need to make this deliciously simple supper. Forget fancy spices--four ingredients are all you need to make this deliciously simple supper.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

1/4 cup pure maple syrup (NOT pancake syrup!) or honey
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    2-3 cloves minced garlic
12 ounces fresh or thawed salmon

Tips

I usually go for the more complicated recipes, assuming that the more ingredients and preparation steps, the better. Not after trying this recipe!

Directions

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a gallon-size ziploc bag, shake it up, and then add the salmon. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for an hour, turning after half an hour. Pour the salmon and the marinade into a baking dish and bake in a 350 degree oven, covered with foil, for 15 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily at the thickest part. Enjoy! Makes (4) 3 ounce servings.

Absolutely Delish! We fixed it with the Maple Syrup and as written. It reminds me of the Bourbon Chicken you get at the malls. I'm going to try it with Chicken and see how it turns out. I've been sarching for a recipe that would mimick the Bourbon Chicken at the mall...this might do it! - 8/13/10

My little brother DOES NOT eat fish and he saw me eating this for lunch. Said it smelled good. I told him it had maple syrup, soy sauce and garlic in it... three things he likes. He actually TRIED the fish and thought it was good. Unbelievable. The recipe so tasty and satiates a sweet tooth too, lol - 5/29/10

  • Just made this. Pretty good. Didn't have enough soy sauce (didn't know that it was running out), so that could be why it wasn't as flavorful as it could've been. Will definitely make again (got a big bottle of soy sauce for next time). Made couscous & mixed vegetables as sides. - 5/18/14

  • 5 stars for health, simplicity, and wonderful flavor! I added a teaspoon of grated fresh ginger, and added an extra 5 mins to the cooking time without the foil to let the top glaze just a little. It's poaching in the marinade, so it doesn't dry out. - 3/8/14
