Green Pea Capallini

Introduction

A delicious Sicilian recipe from my ol' brother in-laws grandma. Sleeping with the fishes not required. A delicious Sicilian recipe from my ol' brother in-laws grandma. Sleeping with the fishes not required.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    5 cloves garlic
    3 medium shallots (or thinly sliced white/yellow onion)
    2 cans of peas
    1 can of water
    salt (to taste)
    pepper (to taste)
    basil dried (to taste)
    2 Bay leaves
    crushed red pepper (to taste/optional)
    3 tbsp olive oil
    garlic powder (to taste)
    16 oz Angel Hair Pasta (Capallini)

Directions

In a sauce pan saute garlic cloves and shallots (until translucent). [I usually add the red pepper flakes to bring out the natural oils in the shallots and cloves.] add entire can content of peas, add 1 can of water. Add salt, pepper, bay leaf and basil to your desire.

Cook pasta. Ladle sauce over pasta. Even better the next day.
