IntroductionThe basis for any Sushi dish. The basis for any Sushi dish.
Japanese style short grain white rice: one cup raw results in about 3 cups cooked.
1 1/3 cup water for cooking rice
Nakano Seasoned Rice Vinegar
Place in heavy pot with the water.
Heat to boiling, Cover.
Turn down to Medium heat and leave for 5 minutes.
Turn down to (very) LOW and leave steaming for 10 minutes.
Turn OFF and leave to continue steaming for another 10-15 minutes.
Turn out into a large bowl.
Add seasoned vinegar and fan rice to cool it quickly.
Serve with smoked salmon or stir in Japanese scrambled egg and some vegetables diced small.
Top with a bit of Nori if you wish.
