I cooked them in a skillet on medium heat instead of in the oven and they turned out great. Next time I am going to cut the salt in half though (it was a bit salty for my taste). I might even try scrambling it with eggs and potatoes. - 6/19/08

Thanks for the comment. I don't use salt so I didn't add any but looking back that does seem like a lot of salt. I keep mine in the freezer and just take them out as I need one or two. I break two up and mix with 2 eggs, some milk, 1/8 c cheese, and fine diced yellow summer squash for a omelet.

I made 6 "patties" instead of the 12 smaller ones to use when I make my homemade substitute for "McDonalds Sausage Egg & Cheese McMuffin." And I used 1 tsp of salt instead of 1 tbs. This is a great alternative to the drive thru! Thank you so much!!! - 1/25/09

I agree, the salt probably should be 1 teaspoon instead of a tablespoon!

  • I added oregano, basil, & garlic to make them Italian seasoned. Cooked in the microwave until no longer pink, drained fat, then threw them in Ragu no-sugar-added tomato & basil pasta sauce for 10-15 minutes. Yum! My hubby even liked them & he hates turkey meatballs. - 3/6/13

  • I use this recipe all the time! It is delicious. I use 1 tsp of Lawry's garlic salt instead of 1 tbsp of salt for 1.5lbs of ground turkey, divide them up into 1-2 oz patties and eat them throughout the week. I also cook them on top of the stove to avoid overdrying them. Thank you for sharing :-)!!!! - 2/10/13

  • I made this using 1.25 # of ground turkey andso increased spices by 25% except for a little less than a tablespoon salt; very salty still. Will cut the salt again; perhaps a typo? But very, very good! Also. fried with a little olive oil; too hot to use the oven. - 6/18/11

  • This is awesome! My mom made this and it is great. I am going to use it to round out my morning Steel Cut Oatmeal with Blueberries and Steamed Milk (see the recipe for details). - 3/22/11

  • Definitely will try this again! Too much red pepper for our taste so will tweak the spices next time. Great taste otherwise...I've been craving sausage and this filled the bill! - 6/14/08
