Submitted by: JATO791

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1/2 lbs kielbasa, sliced
1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 tsp thyme
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    1/4 cup water

Directions

Slice kielbasa into pieces and place into a hot frying pan to brown. While kielbasa is browing, shred cabbage and slice onions. When kielbasa is brown on all sides, remove from pan. Add onion & cabbage. Saute briefly then add 1/4 cup of water to pan, cover and steam until cabbage is tender. When water is mostly gone, add the sausage back to the pan & continue steaming until all the water is gone.

  • Easy & quick, and tasty, too! Served with mashed potatoes as suggested. Hubby & I both liked it ~ my kids not so much, but they aren't big cabbage fans anyway. - 6/14/10

You're welcome! My mom used to serve it with either pan fried or mashed potatoes. Never thought about adding the green beans. Great idea! Thanks!
