Indian Rice Pudding (Kheer)

Introduction

Low calorie treat even with the whole milk. It's made like the kind you get in Indian resteraunts. Low calorie treat even with the whole milk. It's made like the kind you get in Indian resteraunts.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    6 cups whole milk
    1 1/2 cups cooked basmati rice
    3 tbsp granulated sugar
    dash of sea salt
    1 tbsp ground cinnamon
    1 tbsp ground nutmeg

Directions

In a large sauce pan, bring milk & cinnamon to a GENTLE boil. Reduce the heat to VERY low, letting the milk cool. About 20 min.
Add the sugar, salt, & rice, allowing the mixture to thicken over the low heat.
Pour into serving bowls. Allow to cool to room temperature, and refridgerate for several hours untill chilled through.
Garnish with nutmeg.
Makes 6.
