Submitted by: S00KIE

Introduction

Not a low calorie food. But, oh, the fiber!! Not a low calorie food. But, oh, the fiber!!
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    Old fashioned Oats, 2 cups
    Flake Sweetened Coconut, 1/4 cup
    Slivered Almonds, 1/4 cup
    Raisins, 1/4 Cup
    Salt, 1/4 tsp
    Brown Sugar, 2 tbs
Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 Cup OR Wheat Germ, 1/2 Cup

    Canola Oil, 3 tbsp
    Water, 1 tbs
Pancake or Corn Syrup, 1/4 cup

Directions

Mix old fashioned oats, whole wheat flour (or wheat germ) brown sugar, salt, coconut and almonds in a large bowl.

Warm up syrup (or honey or molasses, etc) along with oil and water in the microwave. Watch it closely.

When it's warm, pour over the oats mixture and mix thoroughly.

Pour into lightly oiled 13 X 9 cake pan and work mixture into little balls with your hands, squeezing it to make it stick. The smaller the balls, the shorter the cook time.

Cook for 30 minutes to an hour at 275 degrees. Check for doneness every 10 minutes after 30 minutes.

Serve with milk or eat right of the air-tight container you store this in!

Enjoy!!!

Makes about 9 or 10 1/2 cup servings

Number of Servings: 10
