Chicken Shwarma

Introduction

A Delicious Middle Eastern Sandwich! A Delicious Middle Eastern Sandwich!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    2 tbsp lemon juice
    1 tsp curry powder
    2 tsp EVOO
    .75 tsp salt
    .5 tsp cumin
    3 garlic cloves minced
    1lb chicken tenderloins

    Sauce:
    .5 cup greek yogurt ( Fage 0%)
    2 tbsp tahini
    2 tsp lemon juice
    .25 tsp salt
    1 garlic clove minced

    4 6 inch whole wheat pitas
    1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
    1 tomato sliced

Directions

First set of ingredients together then add chicken to marinate. Skewer on bamboo sticks and grill chicken.

Mix yogurt ingredients together to make sauce. Heat pitas and assemble sandwiches.

  • Just had this tonight, and will be having this very very very often. The only change I will make is to use regular yogurt in place of greek (I still can't bring myself to like greek yogurt) Other than that - a superb recipe, and healthy to boot. - 6/26/11
