Directions

Pie Crust:
In a medium bowl, mix flour and salt well. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut in softened butter. Gently stir in water. Divide crust into balls. Roll out into 9 inch circles. Place one circle into your pie pan. Then prepare pie filling.

Pie Filling:
In a medium bowl, mix cornstarch and sugar well. Add berries. Mix gently until coated. Berries will be a bit "squishy" and that is normal. Pour filling into pie pan ontop of first crust. Top with remaining crust circle. Pinch edges so that crusts form a seal. Poke holes into top crust with fork or toothpick. This will allow steam to escape.

Bake your pie at 350 degrees for about 40-60 minutes. Pie is finished when crust is golden - do not allow to burn. Set pie aside and allow to cool for at least two hours. Enjoy!

  • This tasted yummy! I had a bit of a problem with the crust. I think it needed more water, but it was the same recipe as my grandmother's, so it must have been my technique: I was in a hurry to get a pie made on "Pi Day!" (3/14) I need to practice! I highly recommend this recipe! - 3/14/14
