IntroductionOur family has two types of slumgullium - both big favorites! Serve alone or over rice or with good bread to sop up the juices. Our family has two types of slumgullium - both big favorites! Serve alone or over rice or with good bread to sop up the juices.
1 lb. ground beef (80/20 or 93/7)
1 16 oz. can of baked beans
1/2 c green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 c onion, chopped
1/4 c tomato paste
salt & pepper to taste (some folks like to add cracked red pepper for some zip)
Stir in the bell pepper, onion, & tomato paste. Lower heat & simmer a few minutes - then add the baked beans and stir.
Cover and let simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add water if mixture is too dry.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes - or just with some good bread.
