Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1.5 lbs chicken breast tenders
    1 cup plain bread crumbs
    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
    1 teas garlic salt
    1/2 teas garlic powder
    1/4 teas ground black pepper
    1 egg
    1/4 cup milk
2 Tbl extra virgin olive oil
1 jar (1 lb. 10 oz.) spaghetti sauce
    1 lb ziti
    1/2 grated parmesan cheese
1 cup part skim mozzarella cheese

Directions

Mix bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic salt, garlic powder, and pepper. In a small bowl, mix egg and milk. Cut chicken tenders into 1.5 inch cubes. Dip chicken cubes in egg/milk mixture, and then roll in bread crumb mixture.
Heat olive oil over medium heat. Pan fry chicken pieces until browned, approx. 4 minutes on both side.
While chicken is cooking, prepare ziti per package directions until al dente.
When chicken is done, remove from heat and let sit on a paper towel.
When ziti is done cooking, drain and pour into greased (Pam) 9x14 pan. Pour spagetti sauce over pasta, and sprinkle with 1/2 cup parmesan cheese.
Arrange chicken in single layer over pasta. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over chicken, and bake in 350 F oven for 25 minutes or until heated through and cheese melted.

Makes 8 servings.
Enjoy!

Really good. I made this for dinner last night. Instead of pan frying the chicken I baked it in the over at 375 for 20 minutes, turning in between. I also used more sauce than was called for. It was delicious and I would make again - 11/1/10

This was awesome. Hubby and kids loved it as well. Omitted the olive oil and baked the chicken at 350 for 15 minutes on a "Pam'd" cookie sheet. I haven't really fried anything since starting Spark. I wonder how many calories I saved by not using oil... - 6/2/10

I cut the sodium a little by just using garlic pwdr. Parm cheese is pretty salty itself. I also broiled the chic instead of frying it. Very good! LARGE serving. Was very full w/ just 1 serving and some cantaloupe. - 4/22/10

Exellent! In my version I used egg whites/fat free milk for the wash, added Italian seasoning to the crumbs, and eliminated the oil by putting the chicken chunks on a cookie sheet, spraying lightly with Pam and baking. I also added more sauce after reading reviews. Great recipe!! - 10/26/09

Made two because I was having 12 people and we only ate one. I will be making it ahead of time and freezing it. - 10/4/10

  • Super delicious!! I also agree with more sauce. I omitted the milk and eggs and just shook the chicken with the bread crumbs and spices. I baked the chicken first at 375 for 10 minutes a side. I also added more sauce - I used the reduced calorie Prego. Topped it off with some basil and parsley. - 11/6/12

  • This was absolutely satisfying and delicious. My whole family loved it and wanted more. Breading the chicken cubes was a little fussy but well worth the effort. The sauce called for is 1 pound 10 oz. jar. It was plenty. I did add herbs to the plain bread crumbs but followed the recipe as listed - 9/14/12

  • Made this last night and my family thoroughly enjoyed it. I also baked my chicken instead of using the oil. The breading on the chicken is fantastic! We used 24 oz of sauce and it was no way too much. I am sure the 10 ounces it calls for has to be invisible! Use MORE! :) Hope you enjoy. - 2/7/12

  • I made this for my visiting family. Used 1# lean hamburger, and 1/4# mild sausage, box of Ziti and 2 cans Hunts 4-cheese sauce, no parmesan and topped with Mozarella. It was great and using the 2 cans of sauce made it so moist. My grandson wanted the recipe and he's 10. I will make again!! - 8/21/11
