Number of Servings: 8
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken breast tenders 1 cup plain bread crumbs 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 teas garlic salt 1/2 teas garlic powder 1/4 teas ground black pepper 1 egg 1/4 cup milk 2 Tbl extra virgin olive oil 1 jar (1 lb. 10 oz.) spaghetti sauce 1 lb ziti 1/2 grated parmesan cheese 1 cup part skim mozzarella cheese
Directions
Mix bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic salt, garlic powder, and pepper. In a small bowl, mix egg and milk. Cut chicken tenders into 1.5 inch cubes. Dip chicken cubes in egg/milk mixture, and then roll in bread crumb mixture. Heat olive oil over medium heat. Pan fry chicken pieces until browned, approx. 4 minutes on both side. While chicken is cooking, prepare ziti per package directions until al dente. When chicken is done, remove from heat and let sit on a paper towel. When ziti is done cooking, drain and pour into greased (Pam) 9x14 pan. Pour spagetti sauce over pasta, and sprinkle with 1/2 cup parmesan cheese. Arrange chicken in single layer over pasta. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over chicken, and bake in 350 F oven for 25 minutes or until heated through and cheese melted.
Really good. I made this for dinner last night. Instead of pan frying the chicken I baked it in the over at 375 for 20 minutes, turning in between. I also used more sauce than was called for. It was delicious and I would make again

This was awesome. Hubby and kids loved it as well. Omitted the olive oil and baked the chicken at 350 for 15 minutes on a "Pam'd" cookie sheet. I haven't really fried anything since starting Spark. I wonder how many calories I saved by not using oil...

I cut the sodium a little by just using garlic pwdr. Parm cheese is pretty salty itself. I also broiled the chic instead of frying it. Very good! LARGE serving. Was very full w/ just 1 serving and some cantaloupe.

Exellent! In my version I used egg whites/fat free milk for the wash, added Italian seasoning to the crumbs, and eliminated the oil by putting the chicken chunks on a cookie sheet, spraying lightly with Pam and baking. I also added more sauce after reading reviews. Great recipe!!

The was wonderful! I cut the chicken into small bite size pieces because I have a toddler. The chicken was so easy to make. The entire dish was gobbled up by everyone. Will make again - often!!

YUMMY! Thank you so much for this incredible recipe! I served it as the main course for my dinner party last night and everyone now wants the recipe. It was delicious and filling. Made two because I was having 12 people and we only ate one. I will be making it ahead of time and freezing it.

This was so good. I made it today and my family loved it. I did add a half can of diced tomatos just to give it a little extra sauce. I will make again.

This was very good! Took it to my supper club and everyone loved it! I did read other's comments before making and used a 32 oz jar of sauce instead of the recipes 10 oz suggestion and it came out perfect. Thanks for sharing!

I made this for my husband last night, I have never seen him compliment me so much about the food I made, lol. It's delicious, I used bowtie noodles because I couldn't find ziti noodles, but it was awsome.

This was soooo good. I made it as the listed but I did add mushrooms and onions (I love both). I wish I had extra sauce but it was so yummy, I don't think I noticed while eating.

Super delicious!! I also agree with more sauce. I omitted the milk and eggs and just shook the chicken with the bread crumbs and spices. I baked the chicken first at 375 for 10 minutes a side. I also added more sauce - I used the reduced calorie Prego. Topped it off with some basil and parsley.

This was absolutely satisfying and delicious. My whole family loved it and wanted more. Breading the chicken cubes was a little fussy but well worth the effort. The sauce called for is 1 pound 10 oz. jar. It was plenty. I did add herbs to the plain bread crumbs but followed the recipe as listed

very tasty, the worst part is frying the chicken. I used 4 boneless breast, can use fresh mushrooms and make the sauce ahead of time with geen peppers for more flavor.

This was very good. I used Ferber's spaghetti sauce from this site - had some leftovers, but I needed more. Will use extra sauce next time. I also baked the chicken and it turned out excellent! Definitely a do again!

Made this last night and my family thoroughly enjoyed it. I also baked my chicken instead of using the oil. The breading on the chicken is fantastic! We used 24 oz of sauce and it was no way too much. I am sure the 10 ounces it calls for has to be invisible! Use MORE! :) Hope you enjoy.

Very good. Like everyone else I baked the chicken and ommited the milk. I also took a half cup of sauce out and replaced it w/ V8 low sodium.

I made this for my visiting family. Used 1# lean hamburger, and 1/4# mild sausage, box of Ziti and 2 cans Hunts 4-cheese sauce, no parmesan and topped with Mozarella. It was great and using the 2 cans of sauce made it so moist. My grandson wanted the recipe and he's 10. I will make again!!

We loved this recipe! My husband was really impressed and he's not into healthy eating! The only thing I would change is to put more Italian herbs into the bread crumb mixture, but other than that, the recipe was wonderful!

This was very good and easy to throw together. I baked the chicken in the oven with no oil at all. Makes HUGE servings, had to freeze about half of it. No complaints :)

Made this and it was really good. Halved it and used jared sauce. I also added a some water since the sauce was thick and coment said it was dry. I will try this again!

I am planning on making this tonight, but I am very displeased to find that the calorie count is not nearly as low as 383.8. Actually, if you read the break down that is offered for the recipe and add all those up - it comes out to 509 calories!!! Not exactly in my calorie range, like I thought :(

Absolutely delicious! The only change I made was to use leftover rotisserie chicken without breading it. Very fast & tasty. Thanks so much for posting.

This was fantastic! It hit all the cravings for a good, rich pasta that I'd been having! We will absolutely be making this again, maybe next time mixing in some spinach and other veggies.
- 12/14/10
We made this and loved it. It could have used more sauce (I put extra in but still needed more because it dried out on the second day). We found there were a lot more than 8 servings. And we were always filled by what we had. It was easy too! My husband especially loved the chicken.
- 11/18/10
The chicken was excellent. I did not follow everyone else's recommendations and added one can of sauce. It was pretty dry. Also, I think the cheese would be better mixed in than on top.
- 8/2/10
This was awesome! I saw it while browsing and had to try it. I did what some comments suggested and baked the chicken in the oven. Delicious!
- 6/29/10
Turned out great!!!! :) Didn't change a thing except add some Italian seasoning! Next time I probably wouldn't add milk to the egg mixture, it was kind of runny.
- 5/19/10
I would definitely make this again-- it was very good! It was pretty simple to make and the portions were large. I love chicken parmesan and really enjoyed this version. I was worried it would be dry, but it wasn't. If you are a big sauce person (which I am not), you might add a little more.
- 4/25/10
Delicious! I love chicken parmesan, and I love this version! I thought it could have used a little more sauce, but the flavor was wonderful! Thanks!
- 3/30/10
This was a big hit at my house and will definitely make it again and I think it will go over really well at family dinners and church potluck. The only thing I think I would do is add a little more sauce to it but delicious. Great recipe!!
- 11/12/09
My family LOVES this recipe!! The only changes I made was to skip the egg wash and just toss the chicken in the "bater". I also baked the chicken instead of frying.
- 11/2/09
Oh I LOVED the taste of the chicken! I think I might add some ricotta to the sauce, to make it have some more thickness. It was so very yummy, thank you!
- 8/10/09
This was a HUGE hit in my household. Two days after making this, I ended up pan frying the breaded chicken for lunch. Does anyone have an recommendations to take down the sodium level?
- 8/10/09
I made minor changes (egg beaters, skim milk, Pam spray, Prego Heart Healthy sauce and whole grain penne pasta) and we loved it! We're having last night's leftovers for dinner tonight.
- 5/14/09
Very good, but mine turned out a little dry. When I heated up the leftovers the next night, I added a little more spaghetti sauce to moisten it up
- 11/7/08
I needed dinner to be as quick as possible tonight so I used frozen breaded chicken breast strips. I know the sodium was way higher this way. I will follow the recipe to the letter the next time.
