Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Introduction

This is a simple, easy dish for an easy dinner, that doesn't heat up the kitchen! Tastes just like my mother's cooking without the fuss! This is a simple, easy dish for an easy dinner, that doesn't heat up the kitchen! Tastes just like my mother's cooking without the fuss!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    2 pound beef round steak, about 1" thick
    1/4 cup flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    2 carrots, pared and chopped
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
    1 16-ounce can whole tomatoes
    1/2 cup grated American cheese

Directions

Cut steak into four serving pieces. Add salt and pepper to flour. Dredge meat in flour mixture. Place in Crock-Pot. Add chopped vegetables and Worcestershire sauce. Pour tomatoes over meat and vegetables. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 8 to 10 hours. Just before serving, sprinkle with grated cheese.

This recipe may be doubled for 5-quart Crock Pot. Cook the maximum time (10 hours).
