Cinnamon Scones

Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    3 cups flour, divided
    6 TBS baking powder
    4 TBS brown sugar substitute
    2 TBS ground cinnamon
    1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
    about 4 TBS water
    1/4 milk or 1 egg white, beaten

Directions

Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, brown sugar substitute, and cinnamon. Add apple sauce and stir until combined and crumbly. Add about 4 TBS water and mix into a soft dough. Use remaining flour on surface and rolling pin. Roll dough to about 3/4 inch thickness and cut into rounds with a glass rim, biscuit, or cookie cutter.
Brush both sides with a little milk or egg white and place on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.

Serve plain or with honey, jam, or cream cheese.
