Cheeseburger Pie

Introduction

My best friends mom makes this delicious meal all the time....my family really likes it...if your having more then 4 I would make two pies....=) My best friends mom makes this delicious meal all the time....my family really likes it...if your having more then 4 I would make two pies....=)

Ingredients

    Pastry for 1 crust pie (I use Tenderflake frozen crust)
    1 lb ground beef
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp oregano
    1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
    1/2 cup tomato sauce
    Also called for but I didn't add:
    1/4 cup green pepper
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1/4 tsp pepper

    Don't mix with above, mix later for the top:
    Cheese Topping:
    1 egg
    1/4 cup milk (I used skim)
    2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    1/2 tsp each of salt, dry mustard and worcestershire sauce.

Directions

Heat oven to 425. Prepare pastry for one crust pie. In medium skillet cook and stir meat until brown. Drain off fat. Stir in salt, oregano, pepper, crumbs, tomato sauce, the onion and green pepper. Turn into pastry-lined pie pan. Spread cheese topping over the filling. Bake about 30 min.
If you like stir 1/2 cup of tomato sauce and 1/2 cup of chili sauce and serve with pie, we use ketchup.
