My light creamy pesto mixes the best of two favorite (high-calorie) Italian sauces--Alfredo and pesto Genovese. Traditional pesto has 150 calories and 13 grams of fat per serving. Ingredients

    1/2 cup lowfat sour cream
    1 cup fresh basil leaves (about 2 handfuls)
    2 pinches of salt 1 clove garlic
    black pepper to taste
    3 T parmesan cheese
    2 T pine nuts**

    **If you don't have pine nuts, feel free to omit them. The pesto would have 60 calories and 4.8 grams of fat!

Directions

Chop basil. Grate garlic. Toast pine nuts in skillet over medium heat until they turn brown. Allow pine nuts to cool slightly and then chop.
In a large bowl, mix sour cream, cheese, basil, and parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
Toss with whole-wheat pasta (Add 190 calories and 1 gram fat to total.) Sprinkle each portion of pasta with pine nuts.
