Introduction

I cut down the butter and sugar in this recipe and used dark chocolate. The texture is best if you use quick cooking oats. I also like to use mini M&Ms. These are a bit high in calories and fat for a snack, but I think they make a great breakfast. I cut down the butter and sugar in this recipe and used dark chocolate. Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    1/2 C. butter
    1 C. brown sugar
    1 C. sugar
    1 1/2 C. peanut butter
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda
    4 1/2 C. oatmeal
    1 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 C. M&Ms

Directions

Cream butter, brown sugar, sugar, and peanut butter together. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Mix well.

Add oatmeal and baking soda. Stir in chocolate chips and M&Ms.

Press into greased 15 x 10 inch pan. Bake at 350 F for 18 - 20 minutes.

It will not look "done" when you take it out of the oven, but do not overbake.

May need to chill (or at least let cool completely) to help set up before cutting.

Cut into 15 pieces, 477 calories each.
Cut into 20 pieces, 358 calories each.
