Slow Cooker Macaroni & Cheese

Ingredients

    1 lb. box Barilla Plus Penne/Elbows
    2 12 oz. cans Evaporated nonfat milk
    3 C. Nonfat Milk, nonfat
    .75 C. Egg substitute (you could sub 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg, but the nutrition values will change)
    4 C. 50% Light Cheddar Cheese
    2 tsp. Salt
    2 T. Hot Pepper Sauce
    3 T. Garlic powder
    2 T. Onion powder
    2 T. Ground black pepper

Directions

Combine all ingredients in the crock of a slow cookers and mix well. Pasta will be uncooked. Cover tightly and cook on high 2-3 hours.

  • Looks good but I'm leery after trying a mac and cheese in a crockpot similar to a crockpot lasagne I make. Uncooked noodles in the lasagne worked well, but the macaroni became mush (tho little expansion) in 3 hrs. - 4/14/09
